Club Founding
The desire for better networking arose from the increasing number of annual meetings of friends of historical diving with all types of old diving equipment.
As a result, the Historische Tauchergesellschaft e.V. was launched on June 18, 2011 as part of the founding meeting. Numerous people interested in diving history from all over Germany came together to create a common platform, similar to the Historical Diving Societies worldwide. The members are veteran divers and collectors from a wide range of fields as well as enthusiasts who are passionate about diving as it used to be.
The aims of the association (HTG for short) are
Researching and documenting diving history.
Documenting and preserving historical diving technology.
Archiving written, film and image documents on diving history.
Publications on the subject of diving history.
Promoting fellowship with like-minded people.
In practice, this means that meetings are organized in different regions throughout Germany, at which
we can talk shop a lot and with pleasure
we help each other with questions and problems with old equipment
interesting pieces of equipment can also be exchanged
collections are presented to promote the exchange of knowledge
In addition, workshops and practical diving on various topics such as regulators, helmet diving, rebreather diving etc. will be held.
Collected knowledge is archived and also edited and published in our club magazine TauchHistorie.
